Welcome to Essential Event Photography. My name is Dan Landbo, and I'm pleased to tell you about what I do and my approach to wedding and event photography. My goal is simple: to provide memory-preserving, essential wedding and event photography you will cherish for a lifetime. Based in Waupun, Wisconsin, I serve an area that roughly extends out to Madison, Milwaukee, Appleton, and Sheboygan.
So, what do I mean by "essential" photography?
Well, I take a photojournalistic approach to capturing your special day; recording the emotions, the personalities - and the love. I catch people in the act of being themselves. While part of my job is to make sure all the necessary "posed" and "big moment" pictures are captured properly, I am not an overbearing "circus ringmaster."
If you are looking for a lot of classic, perfectly-lit and posed portraiture, then you need to know that is not what I do, but I'll be happy to point you in the direction of someone wo specializes in that.
"essential" also applies in the sense that in these economic times, I AM your "affordable professional" alternative to just trusting Your special day to "Uncle Harry and his fancy new camera."
Uncle Harry probably has a lot of great sunset and flower pictures, but it might be a better idea to just let him enjoy the wedding. I can offer a very affordable "shoot and burn" service -- "shooting" the wedding and "burning" all the images to disk. ALL RIGHTS TO REPRODUCE are granted to you. This means that if you don't have the budget right now for retouching, custom-quality prints, or nice photo books -- you can at least print your own at the drug store or share them on the internet. They are YOUR pictures to do with what you want. This is a very non-traditional offering!
I won't hold your pictures hostage to a print package.
But, as your budget allows, please remember that I can provide the additional services of color-correcting, editing and of course, retouching. I use cutting-edge, specialized portrait retouching software. I can perform everything from removing skin blemishes, smoothing complexion and whitening teeth.
Of course, I can provide quality photo prints as well as a variety of album and book options.
